The team
L Gan Futsal Team
LGFT are champions of the Maldives. At the Golden Futsal Challenge, the biggest futsal tournament in the country, the side went all the way and lifted the national title, then backed it up by winning the Charity Shield twice in a row.
The record underneath that is just as telling: four Zone 6 championships and six Laamu Atoll titles. Few teams turn up season after season and keep coming out on top of their atoll, and fewer still convert that into silverware on the national stage.
They keep doing it the hard way, too. The run to the 2025 semi-finals went through the defending champions, settled on penalties after the team had already come from behind. The 2026 supporters jersey wears the same red, black and white the squad plays in, and now it comes with your name and number on the back.
